Ninja Gaiden is a classic platform game for the NES. It follows the story of Ryu Hayabusa, a ninja from the Dragon Clan in search of his father. Ryu finds a letter from his father instructing him to go America and thus, Ryu's adventure begins. (so it started as a search for his father and ends up with Ryu saving the world from total chaos)
I love Ninja Gaiden, aside from its fast paced action (unlike those Castlevania games for the NES, which actually bores me) it has those amazing cutscenes after each Act. This was the first game where I saw cutscenes, this innovation from Ninja Gaiden would later on influence most videogames. Anyway, here's a video of the game which includes all the cutscenes.
