Mega Man X4: X Mini-Guide

MegaMan X4, the first of the Mega Man X franchise for the Playstation is an awesome game. It maintains the tried and tested run and gun, action platforming genre that the franchise is known for and upgrading the graphics and music to fit that of the Playstation. Anime cutscenes here and there add a more compelling story and videogaming experience.

Since writing a full blown walkthrough takes too much time and effort, I decided to write a mini-guide instead since, like most run and gun/platform game, practice is the key in successfully completing the game. This guide shows the location of all items and upgrades/enhancements for X. To get the Ultimate Armor (has all of the modules, plus unlimited Nova Strike), at the selection screen, highlight (Mega Man) X, press the O button twice, left 6x, hold L1 and R2, press start and continue on holding L1 and R2 until the game starts.

Note:

1.       To receive the Head Module, heart tank, and energy tank, you need to get S-rank on Cyberspace area

2.       To reach the arm module, use Lightning Web over the spikes and then jump dash at the lower ledge and use the Lightning Web for your second jump.

3.       To reach the body module, you need the Twin Slasher and the arm module first, and to get the Heart Tank at the Amazon stage, you will be needing the Rising Fire. Skip these items first and before continuing to the space port, complete your upgrades by visiting the Amazon and the Volcano stages.
