Onimaru, on his way back to his village, Iga, was met along the way by two genma pawns. Sandayu, Onimaru's master suddenly came in and gave Onimaru the Oni gauntlet and teaches him how to beat the genma using his new found powers. After the battle, Oboro, Onimaru's sister arrives and Sandayu explained to them that they descendants of the Oni clan and Onimaru, the Onimusha is destined to defeat the Genma King, Oda Nobunaga. A soldier then appeared reporting that the Genma forces are at the borders. Oboro joins the party as they raced to the borders to defend the village.
