Mega Man 2 Mini-Guide

Considered by most as the best Mega Man game in the NES (probably for the whole Mega Man franchise), Mega Man 2 is the most balanced game in the  franchise. Here is my mini-guide (it is more of a boss guide but most Mega Man players know that knowing the bosses and their weakness is all you need to finish the game), hope it helps..

STAGE/ BOSS
WEAKNESS
WEAPON GAINED
BOSS STRATEGY
Metal Man
Buster/ Metal Blade
Metal Blade
(this is the first boss I take on since I love the metal blade, a lot of enemies are weak against this weapon, you can even direct your shots  and it does not consume that much of you weapon meter)
He will jump up and throw metal blades at you. Stay close to him since the blades can rarely hit you if you are below him. Use your buster during your first encounter, during the final stage, he is so much easier if you use metal blade.
Flashman
Metal Blade
Time Stopper
Item 3
This guy is easy, just shoot him with metal blade
Quickman
 Time Stopper
Quick Boomerang
Use time stopper to cut down his life in half, then use your buster to finish the job. You can also use air shooter instead of the buster since he is always jumping around and not that easy to hit.
Bubbleman
Quick Boomerang
Metal Blade
Bubble Lead
Another easy enemy, avoid his attacks, shoot him with quick boomerangs (Metal Blades also work well)
Heatman
Bubble Lead
Atomic Fire
Item 1
Shoot him with bubble lead. Everytime he gets hit, he would dash. So simply, hit, avoid dash, then hit him again with bubble lead
Woodman
Metal Blade
Atomic Fire
Leaf Shield
Wait for Woodman to throw his leave shield. This will make him vulnerable against your Metal blade  or even better , your fully charged Atomic Fire.
Airman
Leaf Shield
Air Shooter
Item 2
The trick is to get close to him. He throws a couple of tornados, evade those and then when he stops get close and use leaf shield.
Crashman
Air Shooter
Crash Bomber
So easy, just use air shooter.
Final Stage
- Dragon
Quick Boomerang

There will be ledges in this fight. Go to the top most ledge (and try to stay there) and let those quick boomerang do a quick job against this enemy.
- Brick Walls
Bubble Lead

Two bricks from the walls form a robot, just do your best to avoid them and use bubble lead. One shot per robot.
-Giant Gutsman
Quick Boomerang

Jump at the ledge above this robots wheels and then jump and hit his head with quick boomerangs
- Wall Thingies
Crash Bomber

This is hard since you will only have enough crash bombers to kill him. The easiest  way to kill this boss is to shoot down all the barriers first and then allow him to kill you so you can replenish your crash bombers. (Go down the left stairs when you respawn and kill a couple of enemies and hope they drop weapon refills). Once you return to fight this enemy, the walls you already destroyed will no longer be there. To finish the enemy in one go, well.. just watch the video.
-Dr. Wily (1st form)
Crash Bomber

If you still have crash bombers then use them. (but I prefer saving them for the 2nd form) If you don’t, use metal blade. Simply jump to avoid his attacks and shoot the machines windshield (the round thingy in front of Dr. Wily’s vehicle,..yeah,  I think it’s a windshield)
-Dr. Wily (2nd  Form)
Crash Bomber

If you have crash bombers left (probably you have none left, but if you do) use it. Then use metal blade or your buster to shoot at Dr. Wily.
-Dr. Wily (Alien Form)
Bubble Lead

I think Bubble lead is the weapon that does damage against this alien. Wait for him to be at his lowest point, jump and drop those bubbles on him. Avoid his attacks (duh) because they really do significant damage. Use everything you’ve got in this fight (since it is the last fight), don’t be shy to use your energy tanks.
